Unit 1: My School Life

Lesson 1: My School Subjects
Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to recognize and say the names of different school subjects.
Warm-up activity: Play a game of \"Teacher Says\" where the teacher gives instructions using school subjects, e.g., \"Teacher says touch your head if you like math.\"
Activity 1: Show flashcards of different school subjects and have students repeat the names after you. Then, ask individual students to come to the front and match the flashcards with the corresponding words written on the board.
Activity 2: Divide the class into groups and give each group a set of picture cards with school subjects. The students take turns describing the pictures to their team members and the team members have to guess the subject.
Closure activity: Play a memory game with school subject flashcards. Lay them face down on the table and have students take turns flipping two cards to find a matching pair. When a student reveals a pair, they must say the subject out loud.
Unit 2: My Family and Friends
In this unit, students will learn vocabulary related to family members, describe people's appearance, and talk about their friends. The emphasis will be on speaking and writing skills through engaging activities and creative projects.
Lesson 2: My Family Members
Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify and talk about their family members.
Warm-up activity: Sing the song \"Family Finger\" with the students and have them act out the different family members using their fingers.
Activity 1: Show pictures of different family members and ask students to describe them using adjectives, e.g., \"My dad has short hair and wears glasses.\"
Activity 2: Play a game of \"Guess Who\" where students take turns describing a family member without revealing their name. The other students have to guess who they are describing.
Closure activity: Have students create a family tree using pictures and labels. They can present their family trees to the class and describe each family member.
Unit 3: Let's Go Shopping
In this unit, students will learn vocabulary related to shopping, including different types of stores, items, and money. They will practice using money and develop listening and speaking skills through role-plays and interactive activities.
Lesson 3: At the Supermarket
Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to understand and use vocabulary related to supermarkets and grocery shopping.
Warm-up activity: Show a picture of a supermarket and ask students to name different items they can find there.
Activity 1: Create a role-play activity where students take turns being the shopkeeper and the customer. The shopkeeper has to ask the customer what they want to buy and calculate the total amount. The customer has to pay using play money.
Activity 2: Divide the class into pairs and give each pair a shopping list. One student is the shopper and the other is the shopkeeper. The shopper has to ask for the items on the list and the shopkeeper has to provide them and calculate the price.
Closure activity: Play a game of \"Supermarket Bingo\" where students have bingo cards with pictures of different items. The teacher calls out the names of the items and students have to mark them on their cards. The first student to have a line or a full house yells \"Bingo!\"
With these engaging and interactive lessons, students will not only develop their language skills but also have fun while learning. The use of games and activities ensures active participation and enables students to remember and apply what they have learned in a meaningful way.
